Into God's Capable Hands

It's really really hard to watch someone you care about go through something hard. At least for me it is. I am not the type of person who can just shrug it off. I carry burdens. I want to make things better or try to encourage in some way.

Sometimes there are no words. Sometimes all we can do is offer availability and a listening ear and commiserate with the one who is struggling or hurting.

In so many situations right now I am learning what it looks like and feels like to place everything into God's capable hands.

A friend recently shared with me that she was thankful God opened her eyes to the fact that when she let go of whatever she was struggling with it didn't just float out into no-man's land but was in the hands that made the universe. That should provide for rest on all sides. But truly rest from troubles is a battle in the mind.

Jesus said, "LET not your heart be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in Me. My peace I give you, not as the world gives."

We can allow our hearts to be troubled. It's a decision. The antidote to a troubled heart: believe in God, hope in God, trust in God
