The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord

The mind of a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth

So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
James 4:13-16
Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit." You you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also to this and that." But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.
A friend once told me, "Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is in the hands of God. Don't let either distract you from today." How often we lose sight of today by waiting for tomorrow. No one knows if tomorrow will come for them. Why waste energy on what is not guaranteed??
